Fixed to the black foam chair,

Look at the dull beeping monitor,

Fingers, now well trained for their daily role play,

Run on the keyboards, faster,

And my resume firmly declares,

I am lazy by day, creative after.

She sits on the armchair,holding her phone,

A routine to follow every Saturday,

Waiting cautiously to hear the phone ring,

So much to speak about the whole week,

Never to miss, a promise she made,

To her dear child when s/he left.

Jump back in time

When envelopes carried emotions

and typewriters wrote stories,

When the landline was our lifeline,

and dictionaries helped with meanings,

I wish to jump back to those times

when life paused to say Hello.

You dance to your carefree self,

No heels, no gloss, no danglers on,

Just you, your pleasant beauty,

I need no rum,no wine,

I am, forever intoxicated.
