Jump back in time

POETICbug_Jump back in time

When envelopes carried emotions
and typewriters wrote stories,
When the landline was our lifeline,
and dictionaries helped with meanings,
I wish to jump back to those times
when life paused to say Hello.

  1. Awww this made me nostalgic. Good one, Salvwi. Beautifully written.
    *Shantala @ ShanayaTales*

  2. Thank you Shanaya. I just feel those were simpler times. I liked life that way. What do you think?

  3. I too long for the days without technology. I firmly believe communication was much better without it and life seemed calmer!

  4. This is simply beautiful. Simple words but so true in this age of gadget addiction where we have complicated and cluttered our lives. Love the 'when envelopes carried emotions'….

  5. I loved this poem, I mean I yearn for those days, aren't we all? I'm seriously thinking of buying a typewriter, as a way of killing the boredom of using my Tshi-Shi (my laptop) and feel like an old time writer, feel like Harriet The Spy (the notebook? I have). I'm doing poetry for A to Z too, can't believe it took me so long to find your site and what a happy finding it was :)
"Haneen/I Will Never Give you Up (430)"

    2. Hi Haneen,
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your appreciation. This is really encouraging. I am glad you liked my poem and we could meet through this challenge. Getting a typewriter is also on my bucket list. :)

Thank you for stopping by. Your comments help me improve.
