Happiness, what is it ?
The eternal essence of life,
Or an incessant strive,
Quenching of a thirsty throat,
Or vacation with friends, off road,
A homeless feeding a stray dog,
Or dance of rain and croaking frog,
The first baby step of a child,
Or saving trees and the wild,
At teenage, the virgin kiss,
Or caressing the grayed wisp,
The smell of success young,
Or listening to an old soothing song,
Happiness, what is it ?
An ethereal, ephemeral cheat.

That's kind of sad, happiness as a cheat.
ReplyDeleteAs is also popular song line:
ReplyDeleteSukh hai ek chayu dalti
aati hai jati hai

ReplyDeleteKristin - Thank you for stopping by my blog. Yes true, that happiness as a cheat is sad. But that's truth many a times, isn't it? Just when you think this happiness is going to last long, it bids adieu. Hence my thought. :)
ReplyDeleteNeelam - Thank you for going through my blog.
Imaginative descriptions!

I love the way you wrote this.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sahil, Linda and Fictitious Amo
ReplyDeleteMy H topic is also Happiness. But as I was lazy to come with something i did it with some quotes. :)
ReplyDeleteBtw nice poem. Happiness actually according to me is everything. :)
For me, happiness is almost always found in the most simple moments.
ReplyDeleteLovely words. Would have to say though that I don't agree that happiness is a cheat. One would feel that way if we misunderstand that happiness is attached to those moments described. Happiness is eternal, in my view, and is our true nature. Just that we have forgotten it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sumita and Kate.
ReplyDelete@ Sumita - May be sometime I will write happiness with the perspective that you have shared. :)
